What’s DPAK Package?
The Decawatt Package (DPAK), also known as TO-252, is a semiconductor package developed by Motorola for surface mounting on printed circuit boards (PCBs). It represents a surface-mount variant of TO-251 package, and smaller variant of the D2PAK package. It is often used for high-power MOSFETs and voltage regulators. This term can also stand for the term Discrete Package.
DPAKs can have 3 pins with 90mils (2.3mm) pitch or 5 pins with 45mil (1.1mm) pitch. The typical body dimensions are shown in table below. The terminal pitch (distance between terminals) of a DPAK is dictated by its terminal count.
