Shrink Quad Flat Pack (SQFP). As with the SOP, the QFP has been developed to take up less valuable board area. ‘Shrink’ is the term associated with reducing the plan dimensions of the package, and is always accompanied by a reduction in lead pitch, and usually by an overall thinning of the package.
