Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the computer-to-computer exchange of business documents in a standard electronic format, like Gerber (RS-274-X), Excellon, ODB++, .CAM, DXF, .DWG, .pcbdoc, and etc. in PCB manufacturing industry. Technical standards for EDI exist to facilitate parties transacting such instruments without having to make special arrangements.
