Tape-Automated Bonding (TAB), a variation of COF, where a flip chip is mounted directly to a flex circuit without the use of bonding wires. Used by LCD driver ICs. TAB technology is a process that places bare integrated circuits onto a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) by attaching them to fine conductors in a polyimide film, thus providing a means to directly connect to external circuits.
