Electronic components come in a multitude of different shapes and sizes, and not all of those shapes or sizes will fit neatly into convenient Tape-and-Reel, Cut Tape, Tube or Tray packaging. When none of these options will suffice, the final solution is bulk packaging, which refers to “loose” parts simply stored in a bag or box. We call these as Loose and Bulk Component Packaging. In MADPCB, we source components in tube and reels, cut-tapes, or tubes or trays packaging. Components with loose or bulk packaging are sometimes provided by customers who have remaining storages from their previous PCB assembly projects.

Clearly, the bulk packaging option is the least convenient for automated assembly, and particularly so for high volume PCBA production runs. That being said, MADPCB, unlike many other turnkey PCB service providers, does not add any cost to your quotation for the presence of a few Bulk components on your Bill of Materials (BOM). For prototype PCB assembly, we do not even require additional turnaround time to deal with your bulk parts, but a slight increase might be needed for higher volume orders if many bulk components are specified.

The simplest method for ensuring that bulk component packaging does not slow down your order is to select our highly efficient turnkey PCB assembly service for your project. By choosing this method, you free yourself from the added responsibility of parts management, leaving it up to our talented components sourcing team and freeing up more of your time to deal with the many other moving parts of the PCB assembly process.
